This topic describes how to enable the Pod rightsizing capability of the Multi-dimensional autoscaling solution. When you enable Pod rightsizing, you are also enabling the Replica optimization capability.
Before the Pod rightsizing capability is enabled, you cannot apply it nor Replica optimization capability to a workload. If this is the case, a message is displayed in the Multi-dimensional autoscaling recommendation drawer (“drawer”).
Prerequisites
The Insights agent is installed.

To enable Pod rightsizing:
From the Multi-dimensional autoscaling drawer, click Enable Pod rightsizing.
(To open the drawer, see Apply MDA optimization with the UI.)The Enable Pod rightsizing dialog is displayed.
Copy the displayed code and add it to the Kompass values.yaml file created during the Insights agent installation.
Save values.yaml
In the Enable Pod rightsizing dialog, click Values.yaml is updated.
An in-progress confirmation message is displayed in the drawer.
After about an hour, return to the drawer. The Pod rightsizing and Replica optimization capabilities are enabled and can be applied to workloads on the cluster.
