# How does Zesty Disk work at scale? When should we expect to see performance degradation?

Zesty Disk can handle applications of any scale, without any performance degradation. We support Kafka, EMR, Elasticsearch, Apache Solr, and other mission-critical applications. Typically, there are about 3-5 volumes associated with Zesty Disk. During a rapid capacity scale-up, this number may increase, and the system will balance itself as soon as the instance resources permit.
