The tool manages the entire lifecycle of this storage transition—from initial synchronization to final switchover—while offering flexibility in how migrations are initiated and controlled. EZswitch's primary purpose is to leverage Zesty's auto-scaling storage solution ([PV Autoscaling](/v1/docs/storage-optimization)). By migrating existing StatefulSets (STS) to Kompass Storage PersistentVolumeClaims (PVCs), your workloads gain the ability to automatically scale storage capacity as data usage grows or shrinks, eliminating the need for manual PVC resizing.
