This topic describes how to see actual savings derived from using Zesty Commitment Manager. This topic is meant for those who are subscribed to Commitment Manager.
Prerequisites
AWS is integrated with the Zesty platform
For more information, see Integrate your AWS account with ZestyAccess to the Zesty platform
Subscription to Commitment Manager
To show actual savings:
From the Zesty platform main menu, select Commitment Manager.
Savings are shown in the Commitment Manager dashboard:
The top section of the dashboard shows the following information (for the previous month, by default):
On-Demand cost: This is how much Compute would cost if no workloads had RI commitments (that is, all Compute at the On-Demand cost).
Effective cost: This is the actual spend (should match your AWS bill).
Savings: This is the total amount saved by using RI commitments, both those that Commitment Manager purchased for you and those purchased directly.
To see where the savings are from (Commitment Manager (Zesty-managed) or self-purchased RI), click.
Average coverage: This is the average of Compute workloads covered by commitments.
In the top section, you can see more information by hovering over the graph line. You can also see an expanded view in each tile, by hovering over the lower-right corner and clicking Expand.
The dashboard graphs show coverage, cost, and savings information graphically, for example:
Coverage type breakdown: shows the breakdown of different forms of coverage in place
Platform cost breakdown: shows the cost per platform
Savings breakdown: shows the daily savings divided into self-managed savings and Zesty-managed savings
