Enable Pod rightsizing

This topic describes how to enable the Kompass Pod rightsizing solution.

Before Pod rightsizing is enabled, you cannot apply it to a workload. If this is the case, a message is displayed in the Pod rightsizing recommendation drawer (“drawer”).

Prerequisites

  • The Insights agent is installed.

For more information, see Install the Kompass Insights agent.

To enable Pod rightsizing:

  1. From the Kompass > Clusters tab, click Connect > Pod rightsizing (or from the drawer, click Enable Pod rightsizing).

    The Enable Pod rightsizing dialog is displayed.

  2. Copy the displayed code and add it to the Kompass values.yaml file created during the Insights agent installation.

  3. Save values.yaml

  4. In the Enable Pod rightsizing dialog, click Values.yaml is updated.

    An in-progress confirmation message is displayed in the drawer.

After about an hour, return to the drawer. Pod rightsizing is enabled and can be applied to workloads on the cluster.
