Registering to the RI Marketplace

Article summary

In order to use Commitment Manager, you will first need to register on the RI Marketplace, which will enable us to cover your workloads with RIs and sell them off if you have any decrease.

This is a process which we typically do during an onboarding call with one of our Customer Support Managers, but it can also be completed ahead of time using the instructions below.

Prerequisites

  • Login credentials to the AWS Portal (not the Management Console) with root user access.
  • A US bank account registered to your organization.
    • This is an AWS requirement and you shouldn't see any charges associated with the RI Marketplace ever appear on the account. If your organization does not have a US bank account, contact your Customer Success Manager or open a support ticket.
  • Tax ID information for your business.

To register to the RI Marketplace

1. Login in to the AWS Portal with your root user and then go to this link. Fill in your Business Name and click Continue.

2. Next you will need to add your bank account details. Fill in your Bank Account Holder Name, Routing Number and Account Number, then click Continue.

3. Click Continue next to Complete Your Tax Profile!

Fill in the information on the next page as follows:

About You:

        - What is your tax classification? Business.

        - Are you a US resident entity? Yes.

        - Federal tax classification: C Corporation.

Tax Identity Information:

        - Name: Business name as shown on income tax return.

        - Address: Business address registered with the IRS.

        - Taxpayer Identification Number: select EIN from the drop down menu and enter your TIN on the right.

Sign and Submit:

        - Mark the consent checkbox.

        - Fill in your Signature.

        - Click Save and Preview.

4. You will now be taken to a preview of the tax form.

Review the details and confirm that they are correct by clicking Submit Form.

A new page will open, confirming that your information has been validated and a confirmation email will also be sent to you. Click Exit Interview.

5. You are now successfully signed up to the RI Marketplace. Before Zesty can begin making purchases on your behalf, you will also need to submit a ticket with AWS to increase the purchase limits for your account. This can be done with your CSM during onboarding, or by following the instructions found here.
