Why is root user access needed for onboarding?

AWS requires root user access to amend or create bank details, which is a necessary part of registering to the RI Marketplace. Without this registration, Zesty is unable to buy or sell Reserved Instances on your behalf to cover your workloads.

Please note that this is done through a separate  AWS portal and not through the AWS Management Console. This is completely separate to your AWS billing account.
