Article summary

This topic describes how to configure the parameters of Zesty Disk filesystems on an instance.

You can configure the following parameters:

  • Minimum size: the smallest size to which a Zesty Disk can shrink

  • Maximum size: the largest size to which Zesty Disk can expand

  • Minimum buffer size: The amount of capacity to remain unused in addition to your current usage. Zesty Disk won't shrink to less than your current usage + the greater of (your minimum buffer or the system defined buffer.)

  • IOPS: the IOPS configuration that Zesty Disk will enforce on all attached volumes

  • Throughput: the throughput configuration that Zesty Disk will enforce on all attached volumes

To configure Zesty Disks, you create a Zesty Disk policy and set to which instances to apply the policy. When you create the policy, the configuration will be applied to instances that match all the tags you enter.

Prerequisites

  • Login access to the Zesty platform

To configure a Zesty Disk:

  1. From the Zesty platform, select Zesty Disk.

  2. Select the Policies tab, then click Create.

Enter a name for the new policy.

  3. Set the instances where the policy will be applied:

    1. Select a Tag key then enter a Tag value.

    2. Click Add tag.

    3. To further refine the search, enter additional tags.

Only instances that match all the tags you enter will be configured.

  4. Set the Zesty Disk policy limits.

  5. Click Create.

When the policy is created, it is applied to all instances that match the filter tags.
